Introduction: One of the factors that should be considered in educational centers and training procedures is ambient noise. Noise is a form of environmental pollution that affects the quality of human life. The effects of traffic and window air conditioners noise were studied on learning procedure of secondary school girl students.
Methods: Based on student population in different levels of education, sample size was calculated. A random sample of 508 was intended for three levels. The data collected through a standard questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS software, version 22.
Results:The results of the study showed that 91% of students lost their concentration in the classroom due to traffic noise and 58% of them due to air conditioner noise. 82% of students said they suffered from traffic noise when attending school. The proportion of suffering from air conditioner noise was 43%. 90% of the students mentioned that environmental noise interferes with their reading and learning procedures.
Conclusion: The results show that both traffic noise and air conditioner are significant factors that affects the learning procedure of students. However the annoyance rate of traffic noise significantly is more than air conditioner noise. Therefore, in order to provide an educational environment for students, it is necessary to pay more attention in terms of technology and in terms of the place of construction in urban planning. Noise must be considered as an important variable.
