Abstract:   (1230 Views)
Introduction: Labor pain affects birth experience and is a major concern for pregnant women. The aim of this review article was to investigate the effectiveness of infrared belts in reducing labor pain and to examine the physiological mechanisms, clinical evidence, and potential consequences of this technology.
Information Sources or Data: In this narrative review study, articles were searched in Medline, Scopus, and Web of Science international databases, as well as national databases, including Magiran, Jihad Daneshgahi Scientific Information Database, and Google Scholar without publication time restrictions until 2025.
Selection Methods for Study:The search was conducted using keywords including infrared belt, labor pain, pregnancy, and childbirth pain, along with their Persian equivalents, by combining the terms using the Boolean operators AND and OR.
Combine Content and Results: Of the 20 articles retrieved in the initial search, after removing duplicate and irrelevant articles and articles with unavailable full texts, three articles remained. Evidence collected from various studies supports the idea that infrared therapy can increase overall maternal satisfaction with childbirth by reducing pain perception.
Discussion: The results of the present review showed that infrared belt can be useful and safe in controlling labor pain, although more high-quality studies are needed to reach a precise conclusion.
